Meet Kathy!
Kathy is the owner and a therapist at Fresh Perspective Therapy, LLC. Kathy is very passionate about helping others to overcome their problems and reach their full potential. She takes a holistic approach and encourages clients to improve their life experience by making conscious, healthier lifestyle choices, starting with eliminating destructive thought patterns and replacing them with healthier mantras. Kathy is an avid promoter of utilizing mother nature’s resources, changing our psyche through the usage of aromatherapy, improving our health by being more mindful about the food we eat and where it comes from, and engaging in simple, healthy activities, such as walking in nature, to reduce the mental busyness created by our current society. She believes in the importance of tending to the mind, spirit, and body, as well as, achieving a positive balance.
Her experience includes past work on a psychiatric unit in a community hospital and current work as a clinical social worker in a state psychiatric facility. She has provided therapy services as a mental health clinician at several different community programs, which has allowed her to meet and consult with a range of different clinicians and form her own unique, therapy model. She has enjoyed serving as a mentor in the mental health field for developing clinicians. She is also currently in the process of completing a Mindfulness and Meditation in Psychotherapy Certificate program hosted by the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies, Cambridge Health Alliance’s Center for Mindfulness and Compassion, and Harvard Medical School.
When Kathy is not working, she loves to sit by the water and read a good book. She enjoys spending time in nature and especially loves going on long hikes with her family and their three dogs. Kathy is a practicing Buddhist and has gained personal insight from her own spiritual practice, which relies heavily on meditation and mindfulness practices. Kathy also has been diligently working on improving her cooking skills and loves discovering local music.
